Magnolia Park - Be Boppin' in the Park

Burbank’s biggest event returns August 22, 2009 from 3:00 to 9:00 P.M. Check out hundreds of vintage, pre-1972 cars from all over Southern California, stretched along four blocks of Magnolia Boulevard.

This outdoor community street celebration attracts more than 14,000 people. It’s an outdoor party where everyone can enjoy checking out the array of vintage cars, soaking up the vibe, wandering the neighborhood and discovering Magnolia Park’s one-of-a-kind shops and restaurants. A true old-fashioned experience evoking the nostalgia of 1950s America, Be-Boppin’ in the Park is free and open to the public.

Downtown Burbank Summer Concert Series


GET READY, GET SET – GET DANCING!
Join us for nine amazing nights of great music and dancing under the stars on the AMC Walkway (at Palm Avenue and San Fernando Boulevard) in Downtown Burbank. Festivities start at 6:00 P.M. with free dance lessons by Francisco and Stacey of The Dance Family Studio (thedancefamily.com). Then at 7:00 P.M., the two-hour concert begins and everyone hits the dance floor.

All concerts are free and open to the public, so come out & dance!

July 2 - Steve Lucky & the Rumba Bums
Jump blues, swing, jazz and rare gems inspired by the '30s, '40s and '50s

July 9 - Phat Cat Swinger
One of the hottest live swing bands in the Socal underground scene, Phat Cat Swinger attacks swing head on & makes it their own.

July 16 - Stompy Jones
A SF-based sextet, renowned for their jumpin' rhythm, wailing improvisations, hip charm and explosive stage show.

July 23 - Flattop Tom & His Jump Cats
A versatile eight-piece band that plays classic big band swing, blues, jump, jive, oldies, boogie woogie, rockabilly, and 40s & 50s Rhythm & Blues.

July 30 - Captain Cardiac & the Coronaries
One of this country's premier vintage rock and roll acts, Captain Cardiac's high voltage performance has been enjoyed worldwide including in Europe, Canada, and Mexico.

August 6 - Orquesta Tabaco y Ron
A 12-piece orchestra composed of musicians from all over Latin America with high-energy, hard-edged brand of salsa music appeals to salsa lovers worldwide.

August 13 - Lucky 7 Mambo
Inspired by the multi-ethnic music-fusion of 1950s and 60s’ Spanish Harlem, Lucky 7 Mambo draws the best from the Cuban sound, African-American jazz and Puerto Rican soul.

August 20 - Louie Cruz Beltran's Latin Orchestra
Bandleader, master percussionist and singer Louie Cruz Beltran is a charismatic entertainer who keeps his audiences dancing in the aisles to the upbeat sounds of his Latin Jazz/Salsa Ensemble.

August 27 - Susie Hansen Latin Band
Violinist Susie Hansen performs high energy Afro-Cuban Salsa, aiming for the feet! Her band combines traditional Cuban Charanga, hard-driving Salsa and straight-ahead jazz.
